Sketching at the Museum:
Scenes from the Changing World

In order to sketch, there is no need to be an artist — anyone can do that! SKETCHING AT THE MUSEUM: Scenes from the Changing World is a creative activity for children of primary and elementary school age, which gives the opportunity to get to know the museum's exhibitions through creative and active participation.

The activity consists of two parts. First, sketching tasks are combined with stories about the exhibition, works of art and various cultures. While different themes are proposed, each provides an opportunity to spend a longer amount of time with a specific work of art, dwell on its details, study the material and build new associations. To retain an element of play, each task has a set time limit for its completion. In conclusion, we look at the completed works, hold a discussion and analyse the creative process.

Sketching lets everyone express their imagination through art, sharpen their observation skills and creative thinking, making the museum visit exciting and memorable.

The activity discusses themes such as personality, foreign art, architecture, different cultures, but the specific themes can be adapted to the interests of the group.
