Processing of personal data
This statement describes how personal data is processed at LNMM (in all structural units of the museum). We assume that before submitting personal data you have read this statement and have accepted the processing of personal data mentioned here.
We will process your personal data in accordance with the realization of legal interests, the fulfillment of obligations set forth in regulatory acts, the fulfillment of obligations set forth in contracts, the provision of public information, as well as other pre-determined purposes.
LNMM processes your personal data, observing confidentiality requirements and taking care of the security of personal data at our disposal. LNMM uses various security measures to prevent unauthorized access to data, disclosure of data or use of data by other inappropriate persons. Our institution ensures proper processing, storage, data integrity of this information with an appropriate level of security. Accordingly, we use reasonable and appropriate physical, technical and administrative procedures and means to protect the personal data information we collect and process. The implemented safety measures are constantly improved in accordance with the security requirements.

LNMM has the following personal data available for further information processing in electronic and paper form:
- general contact information, name, address, telephone number and email address;
- photos, videos and voice recordings taken at LNMM and at social events outside our premises;
- video surveillance is carried out in buildings to ensure security measures;
- information about the education, work experience, current employment, positions, professional activity, political affiliation, interests, birthday, age, gender and other personal identifying data of natural persons (for example, LNMM cooperation partners – artists, art historians, curators, etc.);
- access data of registered and public users, username, information selection parameters, traffic information and IP address information are available in the information systems under the supervision of LNMM. We compare the obtained IP address with the data of geographic map services to find out your approximate location;
- websites use cookies that allow us to get acquainted with information about visitor activities, page views, sources and time spent on the website - we obtain this information to improve the convenience of website visitors, ensure the functionality of the website, as well as to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the website.
We implement personal data protection with data encryption tools, firewall protection, as well as with other data network security breach detection solutions.
We store your personal data in the institution only as long as necessary for the purposes for which they were obtained. Employees who have access to personal data are trained to work in accordance with the data security regulatory framework.
For the performance of museum functions in accordance with the national regulatory enactments regulating the museum industry and in accordance with 18.12.2012. MK regulation No. 923 "Latvijas Nacionālā mākslas muzeja nolikums", LNMM collects and processes materials related to personal data in the museum's scientific document archive and museum collection for scientific research, historical research, as well as statistical purposes.
The responsibilities of LNMM employees include identification of persons, requesting the presentation of identity documents or documents confirming the status of discounts with the aim of correctly and in accordance with 22.12.2015. MK regulations no. 761 "Latvijas Nacionālā mākslas muzeja publisko maksas pakalpojumu cenrādis" to provide museum services to certain groups of visitors, as well as with the aim of protecting LNMM property (issue of family bags, mobile devices, audio guide and other equipment to visitors for temporary use in the museum premises).
LNMM's public events are filmed and photographed in order to regularly and purposefully inform the public about the museum's offers, work results and current affairs.
