Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of France, 2019

On 27 November 2019, the French minister of culture appointed head of the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, curator and art historian Inese Baranovska officer of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

The award was bestowed for her contribution to realising exhibition projects at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design which highlight French excellence in fashion, photography, design and especially – the exhibition of contemporary tapestry traditions, Colour of Gobelins. Contemporary Gobelins from the Mobilier national collection in France, in the summer of 2018, which was one of the most significant international projects during the Centenary of Latvia.
