Free admission

  • Pre-school children.
  • Orphans or children not under parental care (valid status identification card required).
  • For day-care centre, crisis centre and special education pupils, as well as for children placed in a social rehabilitation centre (with proof of status) and accompanying persons (one teacher or one person per 10 children or pupils).
  • Children under 18 years with a disability, persons with a disability 1st and 2nd group (valid status identification card required), and one person accompanying either a child under 18 years with a disability or a person with disability of 1st group.
  • Pupils of Latvian art schools or professional secondary art schools (valid status identification card required).
  • Full-time and part-time students of the Art Academy of Latvia (valid status identification card required).
  • Students attending institutions of professional secondary education or colleges who are studying or receiving training in visual or applied art, design, cultural history, museology, architecture, restoration as part of their studies or training (by submitting a written application to the director of the museum at least one day in advance, stating the need to visit the museum as part of a specific education or study programme and the number of pupils or students and accompanying teachers).
  • Employees of Latvian museums (valid status identification card required).
  • Members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) (valid status membership card required).
  • Members of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) (with membership card).
  • Friend of the Latvian National Museum of Art card holders.
  • Media representatives who are covering museum events (valid status identification card required).
  • Group leaders or teachers (minimum 10 persons).
  • Museum visitors on International Museums Day – 18th May.
  • Visitors to events organised by the Museum during the annual international campaign "European Night of Museums" and during the Contemporary Culture Forum "White Night".
  • Visitors to the permanent exhibition on the last Sunday of every month.
  • Ukrainian citizens (valid identity card or other document proving Ukrainian citizenship required).

Free admission on the last Sunday of the month

All visitors can visit the permanent exhibition on the last Sunday of each month free of charge at the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Art Museum RIGA BOURSE, and the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. If the last Sunday of the month is a public holiday and the museum is closed to the public, this offer is not carried over to the following weekend.

On the last Sunday of every month, admission to the permanent exhibition on the 3rd floor and the exhibition halls on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th floors is free of charge at the Latvian National Museum of Art.
