Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of France, 2019

On 27 November 2019, the French minister of culture appointed the head of Art Museum RIGA BOURSE, art historian and curator of international exhibitions, Daiga Upeniece officer of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

The award was conferred for the contribution to the development of French-Latvian cultural relations though international exhibition projects at the Art Museum RIGA BOURSE, in collaboration with the largest museums in France – the Louvre, Branly, Musée d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, Musée Picasso in Antibes, Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris, realising some of the most visited exhibitions in the museum's history, including Magnetism of Provence and Art Nouveau.
