Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska Visits the LNMA
On 31 January 2024, Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska met at the Latvian National Museum of Art with representatives of NGOs providing support to Ukraine as well as members of the Ukrainian diaspora and Ukrainian refugees who have found safety in Latvia.
Ukraine's First Lady was received at the museum by Krišjānis Kariņš, Latvia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Māra Lāce, director of the LNMA, and Rūta Dimanta, chairperson of the charity Ziedot.lv.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia, Anatolii Kutsevol, and chairperson of the charity Ziedot.lv, Rūta Dimanta, introduced around 200 guests with the benefactors who supported the campaign Datoru koalīcija and donated funds for the purchase of 300 laptops for students in Chernihiv Oblast. These have been handed over to the foundation of Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska and will reach students in Ukraine in the coming days. The Olena Zelenska Foundation was established to enable international supporters to concentrate their help to Ukraine and Ukrainians through a trustworthy organisation.
In the second part of the event, the organisations were invited to ask questions to Ukraine's First Lady.
Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska is in Latvia, to take part in the international conference Russia's War on Children to discuss ways for Ukraine to return children illegally deported to Russia.
