This collection of articles presents an overview of Latvian art from the period after World War II and reveals its stylistic diversity, proving that despite of Soviet regime the works of art created in Latvia did not evolve as products of Eastern Bloc ideology, hermetically closed off from the tendencies current in the rest of the world.
