SILKSCREEN PRINTING WORKSHOP: The expressive Kabuki
Silkcreen printing workshop specialised for the exhibition "Kabuki 歌舞伎. The 19th Century Japanese Ukiyo-e"
Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese theatre that combines singing, music, dance and drama. The heroes of kabuki were often depicted in 19th century ukiyo-e graphics works featuring lively plots, human-size rats, expressive actors' feelings and gorgeous outfits.
Inspired by the graphics dispalyed in the exhibition, it will be possible to print your own T-shirt, fabric bag or any other garment with an expressive portrait of a kabuki actor or ornaments used in Japanese art.
Before the workshop, we will visit the exhibition "Kabuki 歌舞伎. The 19th Century Japanese Ukiyo-e".
