The exhibition “PORTRAIT IN LATVIA. 20th CENTURY. Facial Expressions” shows the 20th century as a bygone century – a time when the Latvian state came into being, developed, was lost and restored. It characterises an age in which personalities, regardless of the hurdles and collisions, invested their experience, powerful intellect and creative potential.
A special mobile guide has been created for the project, which offers a unique interpretation of over forty of the portraits on show in the exhibition – voices from the vaults of well-known Latvian artists and celebrities such as Edvarts Virza, Jānis Jaunsudrabiņš, Eduards Smiļģis, Ēvalds Valters, Vera Singajevska, Kārlis Skalbe and Imants Ziedonis will come to life again.
• The mobile audioguide is available as a separate section in the LNMA mobile app “Mākslas muzejs” and can be used in all three exhibition locations:
at the exhibition “PORTRAIT IN LATVIA. 20th CENTURY. Facial Expressions” in the Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMA),
